Guidance on Enforcement.
Anna Hudson is the city employee managing the new STR ordinance. In a conversation with Michael today, she share some helpful guidance on enforcement.
Noise
If there is a noise or other disturbance issue, then the Police Department has requested that you call to report it to report the issue. You may do so anonymously so you need not fear retaliation from the STR operator or guests. The Police Department invites all citizens to report issues so that it may monitor and document these issues.
Parked Cars
If there are too many parked cars on the street and they are not blocking traffic, then there isn't anything to be done. The city cannot regulate gatherings. However, it is possible that the STR wasn't booked for a house party and you may try reporting it to the owner or operator of the home.
Trash
If there is an issue with trash, lighting, or other similar issue, then call or email Code Enforcement. The contact information is at the end of this email.
In other news, the city is beginning to use the Granicus software system to manage STR permits. It does not yet have a hotline number to report possible violations.
